Parkour at CrossFit Kids

Elijah and Nani showoff their new Parkour moves. Thanks Coach Randall for coming to CrossFit Kids today to teach us these great skills. We learned how to vault, worked on balance, speed and agility.

Remember, beginning Monday August 3rd, CrossFit Kids Indoor will be divided into an older and a younger class. 7-10 year olds will be at 4:00-4:45 and 11 and up will be at 4:45-5:30.

Wonderful Wall Balls

Our CrossFit Central Kids indoor class is really growing, we had 12 kids today! Beginning next week (August 3rd) we will split the class into an older and younger class. If you are 7-10 years old your class is at 4:00-4:45 and if you are 11-16 years old your class is at 4:45-5:30. Contact Coach Heather for more information.

Med Ball Moon Ball

In honor of the moon landing 40 years ago, our CrossFit Kids played "Med Ball Moon Ball." Sit with feet in the middle of a circle and pass a medicine ball around the circle tapping it on the floor between each athlete. The ball must travel around the entire circle to count as one repetition. Now reverse the path of the ball for 20 more reps. A great abdominal workout disquised as great fun! Today these tough kids had to make it through an 8 minute "Cindy" before they got to play (in 102 degree heat...of course we took lots of water breaks).

Big Dawgs (11-16 year olds): "Cindy"
5 Pull Ups
10 Push Ups
15 Squats
AMRAP in 8 minutes

Dog Pound (7-10 year olds): "Cindy"
3 Pull Ups
5 Push Ups
10 Squats
AMRAP in 8 minutes

We still have lots of room in our Monday/Wednesday CrossFit Kids indoor class. Beginning September 1st the class will be divided into two classes. Dog Pound (7-10 year olds) at 4pm and Big Dawgs (11- 16 years olds) at 4:45. Contact Coach Heather for more details/questions or to sign up.

Ring Dips and a Row

We had some new kids in our Monday 4pm CrossFit Kids class. Connor, Logan, and Ryan worked hard beside veteran CFKid, Josh. Way to go today guys! We still have openings in this class for boys and girls ages 8-15years. Send Coach Heather Hodges an email if you would like your child to have one free class to try it out!

A Mental Workout

Today's CrossFit Kids/Teen WOD:

5 Rounds

10 Box Jumps
10 Pull Ups
10 Second Handstand/Headstand

In between each round make one match in a game of Memory.

CrossFit strengthens not only our bodies, but our mental stamina as well. These CrossFit Kids are working out their bodies and their minds at the same time! Way to go guys!

Tabata This!

Today's WOD for CrossFit Kids M/W 4pm class was "Tabata This!"

8 rounds of 20 seconds of work followed by 10 seconds rest:
- Box Jumps
- Sit Ups
- Push Ups
- Squats
- Row

The kids had a good workout and had even more fun playing the "Fish Game" on the Concept 2 Rower for our cool down time. This class meets Monday/Wednesday at 4pm and is open to boys and girls ages 8-14. There is an adult co-ed CrossFit class that meets at the same time, so parents can workout at the same time as their kids.
